In June of 2008, Marine Harvest Canada staff were pleased to host North Island MLA Claire Trevena on a tour of a salmon hatchery and fish farm. Barb was very excited to give Ms. Trevena a thorough tour of her hatchery at Big Tree Creek. Big Tree Creek is a state of the art hatchery which boasts a recirculation system that enables 95% water reuse. Kim was then happy to take over the tour at his salmon farm near Sayward, BC. Kim was actually doing a routine sea lice sample that day, so Ms. Trevena was able to see how sea lice management is carried out at Marine Harvest – and he was very proud to show off his beautiful salmon!
