I’m writing about Marine Harvest Canada’s generous donation of 210 pounds of premium salmon fillets to Pink Panthers and Kiwanis Sunrisers of Nanaimo

Sunrisers and Pink Panthers held a joint “BBQed salmon on a bun” event at the Nanaimo Marine Festival yesterday – in Departure Bay at the finish point of the Bathtub Race. That’s a good location and the weather held out for us. But without your donation, the event could not have gone ahead.

Our customers – and we had a lot of them – were VERY happy with the salmon and we sold it all in the 3 hours the kiosk was open.

We don’t know exactly how much we raised yet, but the Sunrisers will use their part of the profits to help fund children’s organisation in Nanaimo – that’s what we do.

Thanks again for being so big-hearted to the Island community! You have a great reputation and you deserve it.
