Marine Harvest Komox Canadians qualify for playoffs at MSBL World Series

The Marine Harvest Komox Canadians are having a good time racking up wins at the MSBL World Series. But lack of time cost them their first loss on Tuesday.

After continuing their hard-hitting ways with a 16-3 win over Las Vegas Tigers in a 12 p.m. start, the Canadians were right back at it with a 4 p.m. start against the Ventura Dodgers where they were trailing 5-4 in the bottom of the eighth when the game was halted due to the time limit rule.

Tony Super won the first game and Evan Lucas took the loss in the second, where Dennis Barna started and went 6-1/3 strong innings with one earned run and two unearned runs. “We’re in the playoff round, which begins Thursday,” said Barna.

The Dodger win helped them improve to 5-0 and gave them sole possession of first place in the eight-team Div. 2 35 Wood Bat Central division of the tournament in Phoenix, Arizona. while the Canadians are in second with a 4-1 record. The Marine Harvest squad finishes off round robin play today with a 12:45 p.m. tilt against the Portland Reds (1-4-0).
